Folklor ansamble KROMPASHAN
has began to write its history since 1998. Mrs Alžbeta Cirbusová founded it in
1998 and she is its first director. The foundation was fased on common dulies
such as: developing folk dance, songs and customs from south Spish county and
from area of Krompachy. At the way begining the ansamble had got 14 members only
but now it has got 30. There is sung and danced part of it but there is it´s own
folk music, too.
Average age of the members is 18. But there is still another
ansamble which is connected to Krompashan and it´s "Krompashancek" (about 40
children) where there are children prepared to move to its main ansamble
Krompashan. Our ansamble always takes parts at cultural meetings, celebrations,
festivals …etc.
Krompashan visits and travels around Slovakia to different towns
and cities to show its still members. Also there are international meetings
festivals in Hungary in Bekesh`s Chaba and in Germany, Poland, Italy… Our
ansamble represents Slovakia at different exhibitions (EXPO TOUR festival) FA
together with travel agencies
organizes performances for different foregin countries. There are about 30 performances for year.
- Of course there are a lot of noon competitions, too.
- But the woot succesful years were 2001-2002 when the ansamble passed and won a dance part of coupetition in Slovakia.
- Members of ansamble are interested in and looking for new traditional songs and dances.
They are well educated and still working on themselves to be better, to be best.
The range of Krompashan is consisted of songs and dances from Spish and Sharish country and areas of Krompachy, Margecany, Zakarovce, Raslavice
